SMITE 2: SMITE’S NEXT GENERATION
This year marked not only ten years of SMITE but also ten amazing years of accomplishments. Ten years of creativity, ten years of expansion and transformation, ten years of titanic clashes on the battlefield, but above all? Ten years of enjoyment shared with a community that has supported us no matter what.
The Community is the reason we keep making incredible new content for SMITE; they have supported us through ten years of highs and lows. We aren’t done yet; your support keeps us motivated and has allowed us to build SMITE faster than anybody could have dreamed. We are now working on SMITE 2, one of our most significant achievements from the last ten years.
SMITE 2
“To recreate the SMITE that people love, except better in every single way” is the design philosophy behind SMITE 2, the next installment in the SMITE series. The Titan Forge Team has worked nonstop to take the essence of SMITE, the magic that first captivated us, and completely improve it. Although the game is still in production, we are happy to present what we have so far.

We won’t cover every change in SMITE 2 in this blog; instead, we’ll only focus on a few of the more significant ones.
Enhancement of the Game Engine
Early in the 2010s, SMITE was first created on Unreal Engine 3 (UE3), and it has remained on that platform ever since. Even while it has served us well, ten years is a long time, and we have seen firsthand how exciting SMITE’s future can be thanks to our work on Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). Our team’s work with UE5 has already yielded remarkable new opportunities, and we have just begun to explore its full potential. The future of SMITE is bright, and the sky is no longer the limit.
Play and Visuals
The graphics of SMITE 2 have been greatly enhanced, as you may have seen, but these aren’t the only changes. Redesigned from the bottom up, SMITE 2 has new VFX, fresh audio design, and improved gameplay mechanics (movement, abilities, everything!). For SMITE 2, we improved everything that fans cherished from the first game. Along with these changes, the Item Shop has been entirely revamped, and the meaning of “roles” in SMITE has been redefined.
To begin with, the Item Shop has been redesigned to make it simpler to use and comprehend. The SMITE 2 Item Shop has been greatly enhanced with a new and more instructional Auto-Build system, simpler sorting techniques, and a new coat of digital paint.
Our last significant change to the God roles is directly related to the item shop: there will be no more item differentiation depending on damage! Strength and Intelligence have long since supplanted Magical and Physical harm. This implies that everyone is staring at the identical item store, regardless of the kind of God they are playing.
